Client of the Month: Brooks & Milo

This lovable duo couldn't be more different, but together they're the perfect balance of brains, heart, and humor. Whether they're heading out for a walk, solving enrichment puzzles, or keeping an eye on the neighborhood, they've become such a joy for our team to spend time with.

Meet Brooks and Milo

Brooks is a sweet Goldendoodle with a calm, gentle spirit. She's the kind of dog who likes to play by the rules, loves a cozy couch snuggle, and is happiest when her family settles in to watch a game together. While she'll happily follow Milo's lead on most adventures, she definitely draws the line at sharing his enthusiasm for garbage collection!

Then there's Milo, a Bernese Mountain Dog Border Collie mix who is convinced he had a successful career managing an office supply store in a previous life. Paper? Fascinating. Pens? Incredible. Binder clips? The greatest treasure imaginable. If someone opens a craft supplies, he's immediately on the case. His love of office supplies, recycling, compost bins, and anything remotely "work-related" keeps everyone laughing.

Their Story

Milo joined the family after they were searching for a large mixed-breed dog, hoping for the best of both worlds. While he may not have inherited many classic Bernese traits beyond his famously fluffy backside, his Border Collie brain more than made up for it. Even as he's gotten older, his curiosity, intelligence, and desire to have a "job" remain stronger than ever.

Brooks' story is one of wonderful timing. She was adopted through a friend of a friend after her first family was no longer able to keep her. At just ten weeks old, she found her forever home, and it's safe to say everyone was the lucky one that day.

What Makes Them Special

Milo spent years believing that playing ball was his full-time profession. While hip dysplasia and worn teeth have slowed his long-distance fetching days, he's never lost his enthusiasm for engaging his brilliant mind. These days, enrichment games, office supplies, and anything that reminds him of his beloved laser pointer are enough to make his whole day.

Brooks has a much simpler philosophy: food is fantastic, naps are underrated, and if someone needs a cuddle buddy, she's available immediately. She's incredibly gentle and trustworthy, even giving up tempting snacks without complaint if she knows they aren't hers.

Adventures with Rex & Roxy

One of our favorite parts of visiting Brooks and Milo is finding ways to make every outing enjoyable for both dogs. Since Brooks isn't always interested in long walks and Milo loves using his brain, our Pet Care Specialists love getting creative with enrichment activities, sniffaris, and games that let each dog shine in their own way. From bobbing for floating treats to exploring at their own pace, every visit is tailored to what makes them happiest. Their family shared that they've noticed both dogs have become even better walkers since joining the Rex & Roxy pack, and hearing that means the world to us. Knowing we can give their humans peace of mind during long workdays, and provide Brooks and Milo with fun, enriching care, is exactly why we love what we do.
